Long Wash

The Long Wash is a bleak, windswept stretch of beach in Darkshore running just south of Auberdine toward the ruins of Ameth'Aran. Gloomy and scattered with marine carcasses and flotsam, the shoreline has recently grown dangerous due to an increasing presence of hostile murlocs.

Despite its name, the Long Wash is actually the shortest distinct stretch of coastline in Darkshore. It sits under the region's perpetual overcast skies, an expanse of damp sand littered with flotsam, beached driftwood, and the carcasses of sea creatures washed up by the Veiled Sea. While local crabs and snails comb through the surf, travelers southward from Auberdine must tread cautiously: murloc tribes have established camps along the water's edge, aggressively attacking anyone encroaching on their scavenged territory.
