Gordok Commons
The Gordok Commons comprise the fortified northern quarter of the ancient Highborne ruins of Dire Maul. Under the rule of King Gordok, this sprawling stone complex serves as the seat of power for the elite warrior caste of the Gordunni ogres.
Seat of the Ogre King
Occupying what was once an aristocratic wing of Eldre'Thalas, the Gordok Commons have been thoroughly desecrated and refitted for ogre tastes. Grand night elven pillars and arched passageways now house armories, crude barricades, and training grounds for the Gordok—the fiercest, most disciplined fighters among the Gordunni clan. At the deepest end of the wing lies Gordok's Seat, where King Gordok presides over his brutes through sheer force and intimidation.
Law of Succession
Gordok culture operates entirely on brutal precedent: might makes right. According to clan tradition, whoever slays the sitting monarch claims the title of King Gordok, earning immediate obedience from any surviving captains and guards. Astute intruders exploit this custom by sneaking or scheming past the king's lieutenants rather than slaying them outright. If a challenger executes only the king, the surviving guards will recognize the victor's authority and present lavish tributes rather than fight to avenge their former ruler.
