Frostwhisper Gorge
Frostwhisper Gorge is a frigid canyon carved into the southern highlands of Winterspring, lying directly north of the sinister Darkwhisper Gorge. Ancient night elven ruins litter its icy floor and surrounding cliffs, while towering Frostmaul giants dominate the chasm. High above the eastern rim, a solitary dwarf camp looks out over the precipice toward the ocean below.
A Frozen Chasm of Ruins and Giants
Carved into the southern mountains of Winterspring, Frostwhisper Gorge serves as a threshold just before the demon-infested depths of Darkwhisper Gorge. Its snowy floor and cliffside ridges are strewn with the forgotten stonework of ancient night elven settlements. In the present day, the gorge is claimed by immense Frostmaul giants and their preservers. Travel down into the ravine is perilous, as the giants fiercely defend the frozen crags against any wandering intruders.
The Eastern Overlook
Hidden along a narrow, quiet track at the top of the gorge's eastern cliffs lies a curious outpost. Flying travelers on wyverns or gryphons passing between Azshara, Orgrimmar, and Winterspring often glimpse it from above: a solitary dwarven encampment perched at the very edge of the world. Planted with the banner of Ironforge, the camp features crates of provisions, barrels of ale, a comfortable chair, and a rifle leaning against the rest, providing an unmatched view across the drop to the Great Sea below.
