Far Watch Post
The story
Far Watch Post is a fortified Horde outpost situated just west of the Southfury River bridge connecting Durotar to the Barrens. Serving as the front line of defense for the orcish homeland, the post guards vital trade caravans against aggressive quilboar packs and hostile Alliance incursions.
Located at the western foot of the bridge out of Durotar, Far Watch Post is the first bastion of Horde authority travellers see when entering the vast, arid savannah of the Barrens. The settlement is Spartan but functional, built for tactical readiness rather than comfort. It features a sturdy orcish watchtower, a burrow, and pre-sighted siege catapults trained toward the dusty plains. Directly south of the main road, peons tend a pen of riding wolves ready to bear messengers or reinforcements. Far Watch Post exists primarily to keep the supply road to Crossroads secure, screening incoming traffic and repelling raids from roaming quilboar tribes and stealthy Alliance scouts.
