Cliffspring Falls
The story
Cliffspring Falls marks the dramatic origin of Darkshore's vital Cliffspring River, tumbling down from the eastern cliffs into the coastal forest. Long celebrated as the principal source of clean drinking water for the region, its waters have recently fallen victim to a foul, spreading taint. The subterranean cavern feeding the waterfall has become infested with hostile naga and shadowy Twilight's Hammer cultists.
Pouring out from caverns perched high in the rocky bluffs along Darkshore's eastern border, Cliffspring Falls feeds the Cliffspring River, which winds westward across the woods to empty into the sea. Traditionally, this cascade provided the purest drinking water for local night elf settlements. In recent times, however, the waters have turned foul and murky, spreading sickness and ecological decay throughout the river basin. Investigating naturalists have discovered that the cave network at the falls' headwaters is overrun by vile naga and dark cultists, who plot in the shadows while demonic corruption from neighboring Felwood threatens to seep through the highland bedrock.
