Gar'Thok

Gar'Thok is a veteran orc warrior and outpost commander stationed at Razor Hill in Durotar. Having survived the initial Kul Tiras landings on Durotar's coast, he now coordinates local defense against human encroachers and native threats. He directs young Horde recruits stepping out of the Valley of Trials to secure the red wastes of the new homeland.

A Veteran of the Red Wastes

Following the Third War, Gar'Thok marched to Durotar under Warchief Thrall and served as a lieutenant under Nazgrel during the earliest days of building the new homeland. When the half-ogre wanderer Rexxar first arrived in Durotar, it was Gar'Thok who alerted him to the aggressive quilboar raiding their perimeter, enlisting the beastmaster to safeguard the fragile new settlement.

Surviving the Admiral's Invasion

Gar'Thok's resolve was tested when Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore's Kul Tiras fleet landed along the eastern shores of Durotar. Stationed at an outlying watch post, Gar'Thok witnessed his garrison overwhelmed and brutally slaughtered by naval marines. Though his forces were decimated, Gar'Thok survived the onslaught. The memory of that surprise assault cemented his vigilance against the surviving marines who still occupy Tiragarde Keep and the coastal shipwrecks.

Defense of Razor Hill

Today, Gar'Thok oversees the martial defense of central Durotar from the barracks of Razor Hill. He wastes no time with pleasantries, immediately tasking emerging Horde warriors, shamans, and scouts with clearing out hostile Kul Tiran remnants, repossessing salvaged supplies, and recovering military orders left in the coastal ruins. To him, the safety of Durotar is far from guaranteed, requiring constant pressure against any who question the Horde's right to this soil.
