Tattered Manuscript

The Tome of the Cabal was once an intact, unique volume safeguarded within the fallen kingdom of Lordaeron. At some point, an unknown defiler ripped almost half of the treatise directly from its binding. While the surviving spine and remainder of the book—now known as the Moldy Tome—were shipped south toward Khaz Modan and lost at sea, these torn parchment leaves drifted far across the Great Sea into Kalimdor, ultimately falling into the hands of the Galak centaur inside Splithoof Hold.

Kept within a battered chest deep within the labyrinthine caverns of Splithoof Hold, the manuscript survived the harsh arid winds of Thousand Needles. Despite its fragile, tattered state, practitioners of the dark arts—both Alliance warlocks working with Krom Stoutarm in Ironforge and Horde practitioners aiding Jorah Annison in the Undercity—brave the aggressive centaur to reunite these lost leaves with the Moldy Tome. Once combined, the completed treatise contains the dark rituals necessary to summon and bind a demonic felhunter.
