Smoky Iron Ingot

Within the soot-stained tunnels of the Windshear Crag in the Stonetalon Mountains, kobolds excavate deep into the rocky earth, pulling unrefined ore from the slopes and smelting it over crude, smoking fires. The resulting Smoky Iron Ingots are far from pristine—thick with residue and charcoal—yet dense enough to retain substantial tensile strength.

The near-blind orc armorer Thun'grim Firegaze, working out of a rugged camp overlooking the Barrens, specifically requests these ingots when crafting armor for proven warriors of the Horde. Combined with refined iron bars, powdered azurite, and volatile phlogiston, the smoky metal serves as a resilient core for crafting Brutal Hauberks.
