Night elf druids undergo deep, cyclical hibernations within underground barrow dens to commune with nature through the Emerald Dream. Waking from this profound trance is not simply a matter of stirring; it requires a precise ritual guided by sacred instruments. The Rune of Nesting, kept safely within the Chest of Nesting deep in the winding chambers of the Ban'ethil Barrow Den, anchors this process. Alongside the Raven Claw Talisman, the Black Feather Quill, and the Sapphire of Sky, the rune serves as a conduit to call the Druids of the Talon back to the waking world.

When corrupted Gnarlpine furbolgs overran the Ban'ethil Barrow Den, the barrow's slumbering defenders were placed in immediate peril. Without access to their relics, the druids risked being trapped within the Emerald Dream indefinitely while invaders desecrated their sanctuary. Recovering the Rune of Nesting and its companion artifacts allows Athridas Bearmantle in Dolanaar to prepare the ritual necessary to safely awaken the endangered druids.
