Iron Pommel
The Iron Pommel is the final missing fragment of Dartol's Rod, a rod created by the long-dead wizard Dartol and sought by the night elves of Astranaar to slow the furbolg attacks on their people. Entrusted to the druids of the Dor'Danil Barrow Den for safekeeping, it was lost when their sanctuary was slaughtered and overrun by oozes.
A Slain Circle's Burden
Dartol's Rod was divided and scattered across Ashenvale to protect its mystic power. The Iron Pommel was placed into the care of the night elf druids dwelling near the road winding south toward the Barrens. Tragedy struck the secluded enclave at the Dor'Danil Barrow Den when the circle was massacred, their tranquil shelter falling into ruined silence. The pommel vanished into the aftermath, swallowed by the grotesque, bubbling oozes that now shamble through the defiled glade.
