Willo Companion for WoW Forever: Features and Free Tier
Willo is a Windows companion app for World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), shown as a little blue wisp that rides along while you play: you ask her anything out loud, she answers aloud, and the characters you target can answer as themselves. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, she runs on Windows 10 or 11 only, and she is a fan-made companion, not part of the game or of Blizzard.
Quick answer: Download Willo-Setup.exe from willocompanion.com/willo, sign in with your Lore Forever account, hold your talk key and ask. The free add-on is optional. Willo can be wrong, does not play for you, and has no Mac version for now. Details are as of October 29, 2026.

Some adventurers travel with a map and some with a companion who chatters about the trees. Willo is the second kind: a small wisp of blue light with an answer, or at least an attempt, for whatever you wonder as you walk.

What is Willo?
Willo's own page describes her as a little blue wisp who rides along while you play WoW Forever. She is a separate app that runs next to the game, not an add-on inside it, and she works on her own even with WoW closed: you can make plans, message friends or chat. The add-on works on Mac too; see the add-on guide.
What can Willo do while you play?
- Ask and listen: hold your talk key, ask, and hear the answer. Typed questions get text answers.
- Talk to characters: target an NPC and talk to them; the page shows a dwarf, an orc, a night elf and a tauren. In Willo's Settings you pick a key under "Ask who you're targeting" and type /reload in game, with Live game info on in the add-on's Options and Willo's Settings so she can see your target (Lore Forever FAQ). Characters answer in their own voices from Champion up.
- Notebook: to-dos kept per character, on every plan.
- Reminders and goals: for example "remind me to check my auction in fifteen minutes" or "I want my mount at 40." These come with Hero and up.
- Pins: pin a spot on your journey map, on every plan.
- Friends tab: see who is out in the world and where they were last seen, when they share it. See our guide to making friends.
What are Willo's plans?
The Adventurer plan is free: 50 answers a day, spoken when you ask aloud, and your first 7 days of everything she can do, a few times each. Hero, Champion and Legend are paid. Per the plans page, Hero adds unlimited answers, her finest voice on every answer, reminders and web lookups; Champion adds characters in their own voices and a choice of her voices; Legend adds a richer voice and the 22 Voices of Azeroth. The Lore Forever add-on is free.
How do you set Willo up?
Download Willo-Setup.exe from willocompanion.com/willo and run it; the page says Willo finds your game by herself. Then sign in with your Lore Forever account, which she uses to remember your journey and your plan. Install the free Lore Forever add-on too if you want her to see your quests and location. For the game itself, see what you need to play.
Can Willo be wrong?
Yes. The Willo FAQ says she is usually right but sometimes wrong, and that her answers are not official game information, so double-check anything that matters.
What is not confirmed yet
- A Mac version: the page says Windows only for now, with no date for anything else.
- How she performs on the busiest launch days; no source covers it.
How do Willo and the add-on work together?
The add-on is the book in your pack and Willo is the wisp at your shoulder: it tells the story of the place you are in, while she answers spoken questions and, with the add-on, sees where you are. Both are fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard.
