WoW Forever Roadmap: Dec 9 Raids, Hardcore, 2027 Updates

The World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) roadmap, as of October 29, 2026, runs from the November 4 launch to the raids on December 9, then Hardcore at an unspecified date after launch, a spring 2027 update and a summer 2027 update. Blizzard confirms the launch and raid dates itself; the winter, spring and summer details come from Warcraft Wiki, which says the roadmap was announced at BlizzCon 2026, and Gfinity Esports, which says Blizzard revealed it.

Quick answer: Launch is November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST and the three raids open December 9. Blizzard says Hardcore comes "after launch"; two outlets place it in winter, and the same two list the spring and summer 2027 contents below.

The WoW Forever roadmap: beta September 17, name reservation October 27 to November 3, launch November 4, raids December 9, Hardcore in winter, spring 2027 update, summer 2027 update.
Roadmap dates, with Blizzard-confirmed entries and entries reported by Warcraft Wiki and Gfinity.

A roadmap is a promise of where the road goes. This one starts in the starting zones on November 4 and bends, month by month, toward Mount Hyjal, a Hardcore challenge and two seasons of new content.

What is on the WoW Forever roadmap through the summer of 2027?

Warcraft Wiki's Patch 1.60 page, which says the roadmap was announced at BlizzCon 2026, lists it in this order. The beta ran from September 17. Early name reservation began October 27, and Blizzard's pre-purchase article says it runs through November 3. Launch follows on November 4. The raids unlock on December 9. Hardcore is listed for winter 2026/2027. Spring 2027 brings two new raids, two new dungeons, new quests and a playable area, a new legendary questline and a PvP season refresh. Summer 2027 brings a revamped iconic raid, a new raid, expanded world content, two new dungeons, a PvP season refresh, and updates to professions and Legacy.

Gfinity's September 24 roadmap article, which credits its images to Blizzard, lists the same items, with "progression and legacy updates" where the Wiki says "professions and Legacy". Gfinity warns that unless stated explicitly, release dates are speculative and subject to change.

When do the raids open?

On December 9, 2026, according to Blizzard's October 20 raid overview: Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20 and Onyxia's Lair for 40, all for level 60. See the raids open December 9 and our raids guide.

When does Hardcore come out?

Blizzard's ruleset article says Hardcore will be available "sometime after launch" with no date, and Blizzard's Deep Dive recap says "after launch". Warcraft Wiki and Gfinity say winter, but the Wiki lists that without a source. Guild Order's launch calendar, a third-party page, says only "after launch". Warcraft Tavern's roadmap piece of September 13 does not mention Hardcore. See the Hardcore ruleset guide.

Will the level cap rise?

Warcraft Wiki's Patch 1.60 page says "No level cap increases; players can only catch up through levelling." Warcraft Tavern's September 12 report on the announcement says the game has a level cap of 60 and post-launch updates adding new content "across all levels". Our level 60 progression guide covers the endgame.

What do the sources disagree on?

  • Launch time: Blizzard says 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4. The Wiki roadmap lists launch at 0:00 UTC, which does not match 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC on November 4).
  • Spring and summer detail: Warcraft Tavern calls spring the "first major content update" and gives no contents; the Wiki and Gfinity list them. Gfinity gives the winter Hardcore entry and the summer entry no year.
  • Beta end: Blizzard's pre-purchase article says October 21, Warcraft Tavern's roadmap piece and Gfinity say October 22, and AccountShark says the beta was extended and closed on October 23.

What is not confirmed yet

  • Exact dates for Hardcore, spring 2027 and summer 2027.
  • Whether spring and summer contents change before release. Gfinity warns that dates are speculative unless stated.

How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help while you walk the road to level 60?

The roadmap is far off, but the road to level 60 is open from November 4. The free Lore Forever add-on, fan-made and not affiliated with Blizzard, gives readable story for the quest you are on, recorded narration for zones, capitals and dungeons, a Lore button on quests, and a Journey page of every quest you have finished. Its coverage reaches level 30, with place lore beyond. Willo, a Windows companion app, lets you ask questions out loud, hear the answer, and keep a notebook of to-dos for each character. She is free to start with 50 answers a day and works even without the add-on, but she can be wrong, so check dates against Blizzard's posts.
