WoW Forever Herbalism Guide: Trainers, Herbs and Gold
Herbalism in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) is a primary gathering profession that needs no tool, grants the Find Herbs tracking ability, and trains in ranks up to skill 300. Forever adds scarce bonus herbs, craftable herb seeds, a camp item called the Incense Candle that buffs Intellect, and a Tauren racial that duplicates herbs. Its natural partner is Alchemy.
Quick answer: Learn Herbalism from a trainer or a starter quest, start with Peacebloom and Silverleaf at skill 1, and train at Herbalism 50, 125 and 200. Alchemy is the best pairing, and herbs also feed First Aid healing potions.

Who teaches Herbalism in WoW Forever?
Warcraft Tavern says the starter quest Wild Harvest rewards Herbalism and 2 skill points. WoW Professions lists Junior trainers that teach only to skill 75 and have no level requirement: Zor'la in the Valley of Trials, Emrys Flintbeard in Dun Morogh, and Nancy Songflower in Elwynn Forest.
Full trainers teach up to 300. The same page names Jandi in Orgrimmar and Komin Winterhoof in Thunder Bluff for the Horde, and Firodren Mooncaller in Darnassus, Reyna Stonebranch in Ironforge and Shylamiir in Stormwind for the Alliance. Icy Veins gives the requirements: Herbalism 50 and level 10 for Journeyman, 125 and level 20 for Expert, and 200 and level 35 for Artisan. Learning Herbalism also grants Find Herbs, which shows nearby herbs on the minimap.
Which herbs can you pick at each skill level?
Icy Veins publishes a herb table from the beta. Example minimum skills: Peacebloom and Silverleaf 1, Earthroot 15, Mageroyal 50, Briarthorn 70, Bruiseweed 100, Kingsblood 125, Goldthorn 170, Firebloom 205, Sungrass 230, Dreamfoil 270 and Black Lotus 300.
Gathering boosts let you pick a herb early. Icy Veins lists Herbalist's Gloves (+5, from Leatherworking 135), Enchant Gloves Herbalism (+2), Enchant Gloves Advanced Herbalism (+5) and Goldthorn Tea (+15 for 15 minutes, from Cooking 175).
What is new in Herbalism compared with Classic?
- Scarce materials: Frilled Lichen, Rosecap and Stranglevine drop occasionally while gathering regular herbs. Alchemists use them for Cerulean, Magenta and Viridian Dye (Icy Veins).
- New endgame herbs: Marefoil and Demonsage go into new flasks, and Death Lotus into all four of those flasks and new Enchanting recipes (Icy Veins).
- Seeds: Warcraft Tavern lists Commonplace, Uncommon, Unusual and Scarce seeds that you plant in a camp item.
- Cultivation: Tauren can pick a herb twice. The duplicate needs no Herbalism, but the original does (Warcraft Tavern).
- Healing potions: Herbs now feed First Aid, which makes healing potions in Forever instead of Alchemy (Warcraft Tavern).
Warcraft Tavern says common herbs sell quickly and fall in price on the auction house. See WoW Forever gold making and the auction house guide.
How do Herbalism camp items work?
Blizzard's deep dive panel recap says a Basic Campfire holds up to three crafted objects, one from each nearby player, and that campsite buffs last an hour. Method lists the Herbalism items by tier: Incense Candle at skill 20, Greenhouse at 140 and Seed Hybridizer at 300.
Icy Veins explains each one. The Incense Candle comes from a trainer. The Greenhouse comes from a Blueprint and grows herbs from planted seeds. The Seed Hybridizer comes from a Blueprint and multiplies seeds or combines them into rarer tiers. Both upgrades also give the Incense Candle buff. Icy Veins says camping features share a one-hour cooldown. Read the camping guide for the full rules.
Which professions go with Herbalism?
Warcraft Tavern calls Alchemy the best partner, and Icy Veins lists herbs in the new flasks. Warcraft Tavern also lists Enchanting, Tailoring and First Aid as good choices, and says scarce herbs go into some Alchemy dyes and Enchanting recipes. See the best professions guide, the Alchemy guide and the professions overview.
The legacy talents Working Overtime and Bountiful Harvest also help. Blizzard says Bountiful Harvest increases materials gathered from mining, herbalism or skinning. The free Lore Forever add-on shows zone background as you travel.
What is not confirmed yet
- Icy Veins says gathering locations and skill requirements for the new herbs are not yet fully documented, its herb table excludes dungeon spawns, and its guide was last updated on October 11, before release. WoW Professions says its trainer list is still in progress and not every trainer is verified in WoW Forever.
- Locations and skill requirements for Marefoil, Demonsage and Death Lotus are not documented.
- Warcraft Tavern's herb page names a Fermenter as the item that grows herbs from seeds and also lists a Greenhouse that links to the same spell, while Method and Icy Veins give the Herbalism tier 2 item as the Greenhouse (Method gives the Fermenter to Alchemy).
- Warcraft Tavern says Find Herbs works alongside Hunter tracking but not Find Minerals, while WoW Professions' mining guide says only one tracking type can be active.
- None of the sources reviewed describes Scrolls or Research for Herbalism.
