WoW Forever Alchemy Guide: Potions, Recipes and Camping

Alchemy in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever) is a primary crafting profession that turns herbs and empty vials into potions, elixirs and flasks, and it gains a Mana Well camp buff and 29 new recipes shown at BlizzCon. One big change from Classic: healing potions moved to First Aid, so anyone can craft them. Herbalism is the best pairing.

Where do you train Alchemy in WoW Forever?

WoW Professions lists trainers by rank. Journeyman trainers are in Orgrimmar, Undercity and Thunder Bluff for the Horde and in Stormwind, Ironforge and Darnassus for the Alliance. Expert trainers are Doctor Herbert Halsey in Undercity and Ainethil in Darnassus. Artisan trainers are Rogvar in Stonard in the Swamp of Sorrows for the Horde and Kylanna Windwhisper in Feathermoon Stronghold, Feralas, for the Alliance.

Warcraft Tavern's overview gives the general tier rules: Journeyman at character level 10, Expert at level 20 and Artisan at level 35. It names no Alchemy-specific trainers. Read the professions guide for how ranks and skill-up colors work.

What happened to healing potions?

Healing potions moved from Alchemy to First Aid in Forever, so anyone can craft them. Warcraft Tavern states this in its Alchemy guide, and its Herbalism guide says herbs now feed First Aid for healing potions. WoW Professions notes that Major Healing Potion is a First Aid recipe in Forever. Icy Veins says herbs feed both Alchemy and First Aid, and that First Aid uses herbs to make healing potions.

Alchemists still craft elixirs, flasks and mana potions (Warcraft Tavern). The new Mender's Potions are listed among the 30-second stat potions in Warcraft Tavern's recipe article. Alchemists can also make Portable Alchemy Laboratories, which remove the need to visit Scholomance for flasks (Warcraft Tavern).

Warcraft Tavern's Alchemy guide adds that the Rage Potion can now be used by Druids, and that the Elixir of Cunning suits Marksmanship Hunters.

How do Alchemy camp items work?

Blizzard's deep dive panel recap says a Basic Campfire accepts up to three crafted objects, each profession has three objects, and the first is learned at skill 20. Method lists the Alchemy tiers as Mana Well (20), Fermenter (140) and Alchemy Laboratory (300). Icy Veins, citing a Blizzard post, says the Mana Well gives nearby players 10 to 29 mana every 5 seconds depending on level, and it is mutually exclusive with Blessing of Wisdom. Warcraft Tavern says portable Alchemy Laboratories let alchemists craft flasks without a Scholomance trip. The camping guide covers cooldowns and limits.

How should you level Alchemy?

WoW Professions, using beta clients, suggests Minor Arcane Elixir from 1 to 10, Elixir of Minor Defense to 55, Minor Mana Potion to 65 and Mana Potion from 165 to 195. Potions and elixirs need empty vials in four grades: Empty Vial, Leaded Vial, Imbued Vial and Crystal Vial, sold in stacks of five (Warcraft Tavern).
