Five races can play a Warlock in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever): Human and Gnome for the Alliance, Orc, Troll and Undead for the Horde, and the guides we read disagree on a winner. Troll Warlock is new, and several picks were written before Blizzard retuned the racials on October 16, 26 and 27.

Which Alliance race do guides pick for a Warlock?

Every Alliance pick below names Gnome, and some add Human.

GamesFuze (September 23) and Gamer Guides (updated October 18) pick Gnome for Eureka! and Expansive Mind. GamesFuze's three-spell Eureka! window predates the October 16 notes, which made it an 8-second buff.
mein-mmo (October 28) lists Human and Gnome for PvE and Human for PvP.
TimeSaver (updated October 29) gives Gnome or Human; Human now has only 1% crit plus Spirit.
Warcraft Tavern's Warlock guide (undated, before October 26) calls the Human and Gnome racials strong in PvP and PvE, and says Life Tap now scales with Spirit, which helps The Human Spirit slightly.

Which Horde race do guides pick for a Warlock?

The Horde has three doors, and each guide opens another.

GamesFuze picks Orc for PvE, citing Blood Fury, Hardiness and Shatter Curse.
Gamer Guides picks Troll, rating Orc and Undead "Strong" without reasons.
mein-mmo gives PvE to Orc, and to Troll for Destruction, and PvP to Undead.
TimeSaver gives Orc to PvE for its returned Command, and Undead to PvP.

What changed for Warlock races in late October?

Blizzard's notes moved several numbers. On October 26, Orc regained Command, +5% damage for Warlock and Hunter pets, and lost Savage; Human Ruthless fell to 1% critical chance and The Human Spirit rose to 10% Spirit. On October 27, Blood Fury's cooldown became 2 minutes and Touch of the Grave's internal cooldown 15 seconds (Warcraft Tavern; Gamerfuzion).
