People's Militia
The People's Militia is a grassroots defense force founded by Gryan Stoutmantle to protect Westfall's residents from the Defias Brotherhood. Operating out of Sentinel Hill, these volunteer defenders stand alone since Stormwind withdrew its troops from Westfall. They rely on local farmers and visiting adventurers to hold the line against rampant banditry.
A Region Abandoned
Westfall was once the breadbasket of the Kingdom of Stormwind, but Stormwind withdrew its troops and left the people defenseless. In the vacuum, the masked bandits of the Defias Brotherhood swept across the plains, seizing family homesteads, commandeering iron mines, and extorting local farmers. Facing lawlessness and seeing no sign of royal reinforcements, veteran warrior Gryan Stoutmantle rallied local citizens and retired soldiers to form the People's Militia.
Holding Sentinel Hill
Based at Sentinel Tower atop Sentinel Hill, the Militia maintains a tenuous perimeter across the region's main thoroughfares. Lacking professional military gear and sustained supplies, their protectors patrol dusty roads while Stoutmantle directs volunteers to thin the swelling ranks of Defias highwaymen, thieves, and pillagers. When neighboring regions like Redridge plead for mutual aid, the Militia is forced to decline, as sparing even a handful of men would spell the total ruin of Westfall.
