Deadmines

Deep beneath the dusty ghost town of Moonbrook, the Deadmines are a sprawling underground labyrinth that was once the greatest gold-production center in human lands. Abandoned during the First War and long whispered to be haunted, rumors now circulate that sinister forces have taken root within the forgotten shafts, though what danger lurks in the depths remains a mystery.

A Vein of Gold and Blood

Before the First War, the Deadmines were the premier mining operation in human lands, rich in gold and sturdy Whitestone oak used for timber and structural supports. When the orcish Horde pushed north, the mines were abandoned in haste. Sir Anduin Lothar notably ventured into their treacherous depths to recover the sacred Tome of Divinity, surviving twenty months of captivity at the hands of subterranean ogres before being rescued. In the turmoil that followed the kingdom's fall, the shafts fell silent and gained a chilling reputation for being cursed.
