Kolkar clan

The Kolkar are an aggressive clan of centaur native to central Kalimdor, claiming descent from the legendary first Khan, Kolk. They maintain strongholds in Desolace and across the Barrens, frequently raiding Horde settlements and fighting anyone who crosses their path.

Sons of Kolk

The Kolkar take their name from Khan Kolk, the legendary first centaur khan born from the union of Zaetar and Theradras. Driven by a deep hatred for other races and their fellow centaur clans alike, the Kolkar distinguish themselves by their red markings and an absolute refusal to form alliances. Historically based out of their ancient village in eastern Desolace, the restless spirit of Khan Kolk still wanders the subterranean depths of their ancestral lands.

The Scourge of the Barrens

For generations, the nomadic tauren endured brutal raids from the Kolkar as they traversed the arid Barrens. When the orcs arrived on Kalimdor during the Third War, Thrall allied with Cairne Bloodhoof to push the marauding centaur back and escort the tauren to safety in Mulgore. Defeat did not break the clan; instead, it fueled a lingering blood feud. The Kolkar entrenched themselves around all three vital water sources in the Barrens: the Forgotten Pools, the Lushwater Oasis, and the Stagnant Oasis.

Encroachment on Durotar

Emboldened by their fortified positions across the savanna, the Kolkar have pushed eastward past the Southfury River into Durotar itself. From Kolkar Crag in the south, raiding parties plot assaults against Sen'jin Village, the Valley of Trials, and the paths approaching Orgrimmar. While senior Horde leadership focuses on larger regional threats, young recruits are dispatched to cull the centaur advance before their raiding parties can strike the nascent orc capital.
