Explorers' League

For centuries, the dwarves of Khaz Modan focused their formidable energies on mining, stonework, and engineering. That focus changed drastically when ancient ruins were unearthed, hinting at a forgotten legacy connecting dwarves to mythical titan creators. Eager to solve the mystery of his people's beginnings, King Magni Bronzebeard decreed that dwarven industry pivot heavily toward archaeology. Magni, alongside his brother Brann, established the Explorers' Guild—now widely known as the Explorers' League—to scour the world for relics, forgotten cities, and traces of their ancient ancestry.

The League's operations are directed from the cavernous Hall of Explorers in Ironforge, oversaw on a day-to-day administrative level by High Explorer Muninn Magellas while Brann Bronzebeard explores distant reaches. Across Khaz Modan and beyond, prospectors manage extensive digsites. Sites like Ironband's Excavation in Loch Modan and Whelgar's Excavation in the Wetlands uncover immense fossil records and ancient architecture. However, prospectors often find themselves under siege by displaced wildlife, troggs, and rival factions interested in subterranean relics.

The League's aggressive expeditions have sparked fierce resistance outside dwarven homelands. In Kalimdor, League operations such as the Bael Modan dig in the southern Barrens drove out the native Stonespire tauren through heavy industrial blasting, stirring vengeance and angering local earth spirits. In the arid Badlands, League prospectors clash openly with the Dark Iron clan over the vast titan vaults of Uldaman.
