Writhing Haunt

The Writhing Haunt is a blighted farmstead situated east of the Ruins of Andorhal in the Western Plaguelands. Once fertile land that fed Lordaeron, it has been seized by the Scourge and transformed into a toxic spreading ground for plague vapors.

A Field of Disease

Like many of the old human homesteads surrounding Andorhal, the farmstead now called the Writhing Haunt fell swiftly during the Third War. Today, the fields do not grow crops but instead harvest rot. The Scourge planted an enormous plague cauldron squarely in the center of the tilled earth, continuously venting noxious, diseased vapors into the air. Rotting ghouls, freezing ghouls, and fetid zombies wander the overgrown furrows, guarding the machinery under the command of Cauldron Lord Razarch.

A Watcher in the Ruins

Despite the omnipresent danger of the Scourge and the choking miasma from the cauldron, the farm is not entirely abandoned. Inside one of the dilapidated farmhouses lingers Mulgris Deepriver, a tauren druid who came to these lands to heal the damage done to nature. Stricken by the plague himself and unable to cure the suffering beasts, he asks capable travelers to grant the diseased wolves and other wildlife a swift and merciful release.
