Thunder Ridge

The story

Thunder Ridge is a rugged canyon in western Durotar, situated just southwest of Orgrimmar along the banks of the Southfury River. Once a lush grove of ancient trees inhabited by herds of thunder lizards, the canyon has suffered severe deforestation from human lumber operations and dark sorcery. Today, the agitated beasts and lingering cultists pose an ongoing threat to nearby settlements.

Not long ago, Thunder Ridge was a rare green haven in arid Durotar, sustained by ancient trees and watched over by the spirit Owa'nohe. Its tranquil balance shattered shortly after the Third War when human interlopers from Kul Tiras began felling its timber, driving the native thunder lizards into a frenzy. Later, fel sorcery wielded by the Burning Blade finished the destruction, stripping the canopy and leaving behind a barren, exposed gorge where angry lightning-spewing beasts now roam unrestrained.
