Thoradin's Wall

Thoradin's Wall is a monumental, crumbling stone rampart dividing the Arathi Highlands from the Hillsbrad Foothills. Commissioned millennia ago by King Thoradin during the dawn of the Empire of Arathor, it was built to shield early humanity from the fierce incursions of the Amani trolls.

A Bulwark of Ancient Arathor

Erected nearly three thousand years ago, Thoradin's Wall marks the western frontier of ancient Strom, the heart of the first unified human empire. King Thoradin recognized that humanity's fledgeling settlements were acutely vulnerable to the predatory raids of the Amani forest trolls. By raising this vast stone barrier across the valley corridor, Arathor secured its heartland and forged a defensible bastion from which humanity could survive and eventually contest troll supremacy in the north.

Centuries of Decay

Today, the ancient barrier stands in severe disrepair. Vast breeches gash the stone ramparts, their battlements weathered down by thousands of years of exposure, warfare, and abandonment. Following the splintering of Arathor into rival kingdoms and the eventual fall of neighboring Lordaeron to the Scourge, no central realm maintains the masonry. Now, travelers and roaming bandits slip freely through its broken archways as they journey between Hillsbrad and the untamed Arathi Highlands.
