Stonemaul Ruins
The Stonemaul Ruins are the shattered remnants of Stonemaul Village, once the proud Kalimdor settlement of the Stonemaul ogres. After being driven out by the black dragonflight, the clan fled north, leaving their former home overrun by Firemane dragonspawn.
Rise and Fall of the Clan Home
Following their migration to Kalimdor, the Stonemaul ogres founded their settlement amid the murky swamps of Dustwallow Marsh. The village became famous when the beastmaster Rexxar braved the clan's lethal trials, slew their brutal chieftain Kor'gall, and rallied the ogres to defend the nascent Horde against Admiral Proudmoore's forces. After the war, Rexxar left the ogre Mok'Morokk in command. Under Mok'Morokk's selfish rule, the village fell into decline and was ultimately ambushed and shattered by the black dragonflight. The surviving ogres fled north to establish Brackenwall Village, while Onyxia's brood took complete possession of the ruins.
The Struggle for Reclamation
Today, the ruins are firmly ensconced within Dragonmurk and crawl with Firemane dragonspawn tending the brood's nearby nesting grounds. While Overlord Mok'Morokk grew cowardly and content to languish in Brackenwall, older and prouder clan members like Tharg and Draz'Zilb refuse to abandon their homeland. Operating out of Brackenwall, they urge Horde champions to slaughter the occupying dragonspawn and smash the dragonflight's eggs in hopes that the Stonemaul may one day march back and reclaim their ancestral village.
