Southwind Village
Southwind Village is the haunted ruin of a night elf outpost located in the sands of Silithus. Wiped out by the qiraji during the War of the Shifting Sands, its streets are now bound by the restless spirits of fallen defenders and prowling silithid.
A Tragedy in the Sands
Southwind Village once served as a primary night elf stronghold during the ancient War of the Shifting Sands a thousand years ago. When the qiraji legions breached the defensive perimeter, Valstann Staghelm—son of Archdruid Fandral Staghelm—led a detachment to hold the village. The defense ended in utter disaster: the night elven defenders were overwhelmed and slaughtered, and Valstann himself was dragged away into captivity by General Rajaxx. The village was completely ruined, leaving its former buildings fractured under the sun.
The Tormented Dead
A millennium after its fall, Southwind Village remains an open wound in the desert. The trauma of the assault was so absolute that the spirits of the slain night elf Sentinels and druids could not move on. Driven mad by the horror of their final moments, these restless phantoms—led by the Shade of Ambermoon—endlessly roam the crumbled stone walls, lashing out at any who intrude while predatory silithid swarm the surrounding dunes.
