Shrine of the Dormant Flame

The story

Perched atop the highest peak northwest of the Valley of Trials, the Shrine of the Dormant Flame is a secluded sanctuary revered by Horde shaman. Guided by its solitary keeper, Telf Joolam, initiates make the treacherous climb to commune with the element of fire and prove their spiritual mastery.

Reaching the Shrine of the Dormant Flame requires braving a narrow, winding trail that begins along the Southfury River at the southwestern edge of the Southfury Watershed. High above the red cliffs of Durotar, the mountain summit offers a commanding view of the surrounding lands, though a single misstep along the precipice means certain death. In this quiet refuge wanders Telf Joolam, a solitary hermit tasked with overseeing sacred rites. For aspiring orc and troll shaman undertaking the ritual Call of Fire, the shrine's brazier serves as the crucible where they must ignite slumbering coals using the ember of a vanquished elemental, proving their power to commune with and respect the destructive spirits of flame.
