Gurubashi Arena
Gurubashi Arena is an ancient stone colosseum standing in southern Stranglethorn Vale, originally built by the mighty Gurubashi Empire. In the present day, it serves as a chaotic free-for-all proving ground where pirates and wandering brawlers shed blood over locked chests of treasure.
A Legacy of Blood
Long before human or orc set foot in Stranglethorn Vale, the Gurubashi Arena—known also as the Great Arena—was built as a monument to martial strength by the sprawling Gurubashi troll empire. In ancient days, champions fought to the death upon its sands until the earth was slick with troll blood.
The Booty Run
Though the empire has long since fractured into warring tribes, the arena's floor never stays clean for long. Today, lawless buccaneers and ruffians oversee a different sort of bloody spectacle. A pirate named Short John Mithril oversees the grounds, where every few hours a chest of plundered booty is hauled into the center of the ring. Anyone who steps onto the floor is fair game—faction allegiances vanish, and combatants must butcher their way to the prize against all comers.
