Foothold Citadel

Rising within the fortified stone walls of Theramore Isle, Foothold Citadel is the nerve center of local Alliance defense. The citadel houses the high command of the Theramore Guard, including Captain Garran Vimes and Commander Samaul, along with field medics, logistics officers, and quartermasters. Its utilitarian stone halls bustle with regular patrols and drills, keeping Lady Jaina Proudmoore's forces prepared against threats creeping out of the surrounding swamplands.

The citadel bears a grim history tied to the founding days of Theramore. When Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore seized control of the city to wage his personal crusade against the Horde, this very fortress became the battleground of his final stand. Thrall's allied strike force, spearheaded by the half-ogre warrior Rexxar, breached the citadel and struck the Admiral down. Today, the fortress stands repaired and steadfast, though the memory of that bloody conflict still hangs over its stone ramparts.
