Darkshire

Darkshire, formerly known as Grand Hamlet, is a battered settlement in eastern Duskwood. Cloaked in an enduring, unnatural gloom and neglected by Stormwind, the town survives only through the vigilance of the Night Watch and the stubborn endurance of its people.

Once a peaceful woodland settlement called Grand Hamlet, the village was razed by the Old Horde during the First War and later rebuilt. Its fortune turned truly bitter following the fall of Medivh at Karazhan, whose lingering death throes cursed Brightwood into the shadowy wilderness now called Duskwood. Despite being a nominal holding of the Kingdom of Stormwind, the town hall receives virtually no aid from the crown. Political paralysis in Stormwind City has left the garrison unstaffed and the borders unpatrolled, forcing Mayor Ello Ebonlocke and the local council to administer their own harsh, insular justice in the shadows.
