Night Watch

The Night Watch is the beleaguered town militia responsible for defending Darkshire and the shadowy roads of Duskwood. Abandoned by the House of Nobles in Stormwind, these local volunteers stand alone against roaming undead, feral worgen, and lurking necromancy. Led by Commander Althea Ebonlocke, they rely heavily on visiting adventurers to keep darkness from overtaking their home.

Abandoned by the Crown

When foul magic overtook the once-vibrant Grand Hamlet and turned the forest into Duskwood, the kingdom of Stormwind turned its back. Following King Varian Wrynn's disappearance, the royal garrison was pulled back to the capital. Stripped of official royal troops and supplies, the townsfolk formed their own volunteer militia—the Night Watch—swearing to hold the borders of Darkshire against the creeping horrors of the woods.

A Frontline in the Mist

Operating out of their headquarters in Darkshire, the Watchers patrol along roads perpetually choked with unnatural mist. Their adversaries are relentless: ravenous skeletal fiends and ghouls spilling outward from Raven Hill and Tranquil Gardens cemeteries, alongside terrifying feral worgen prowling Roland's Doom and Brightwood Grove. Severely outmatched in numbers and resources, the militia has lost many of its finest defenders to ruthless threats like the wandering skeletal warrior Mor'Ladim.

The Vigil of Commander Ebonlocke

Commander Althea Ebonlocke, daughter of Darkshire's mayor, directs the defensive effort with grim pragmatism. Lacking veteran reinforcements, she enlists any capable traveler arriving at town to thin out skeletal legions, cull starving wolf packs, or investigate mysterious local murders. The Night Watch views itself as the final bulwark preserving human life in the region; if their lines break, Darkshire falls entirely into the shadow.
