Perched on the High Rise of Thunder Bluff, Zangen Stonehoof maintains the central communal bonfire that overlooks the city's highest bluffs. As twilight falls over Mulgore, Zangen kindles the fire, providing warmth and an enduring beacon for the tribes assembled beneath High Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof. Beyond keeping the flames alight, he maintains ties with allies beyond Mulgore's mesa, acting as a liaison for spiritual and ritual endeavors taking place across the continent.

Zangen acts as an intermediary for Rau Cliffrunner, an associate stationed south in Thousand Needles. When Rau required the mystical waters of a night elf moonwell for sacred rituals, Zangen enlisted dependable Horde adventurers to brave the contested forests of Ashenvale. By securing the filled phial from the ancient groves and dispatching it south to Freewind Post, Zangen plays a quiet but pivotal part in preserving ancient rites and assisting scattered tauren posts.
