Mountaineer Thalos

Perched on the snowy border where Coldridge Valley gives way to the deeper crags of Dun Morogh, Mountaineer Thalos serves as the first line of defense for travelers leaving the dwarven training grounds. Coldridge Pass has become a treacherous chokepoint overrun by hostile troggs who have burrowed up from the subterranean depths. Thalos stands vigil in the cold, warning the unready to turn back and assessing whether hardy couriers possess the grit to fight their way through to the wider kingdom.

When Grelin Whitebeard finishes his report on the Frostmane troll movements within the secluded valley, the courier carrying it to his brother Senir in Kharanos is told to speak with Mountaineer Thalos before entering the tunnel. After verifying that an adventurer is capable of braving the infested passage, Thalos directs them onward to Kharanos, where regional commanders coordinate Dun Morogh's defense. His watchful presence ensures that vital intelligence reaches Ironforge's military leaders rather than dying in the snow.
