Ilthalaine
Ilthalaine is a night elf guardian standing watch over the sacred glade of Shadowglen in Teldrassil. He serves as the primary greeter and mentor for young night elves taking their very first steps into the world. Vigilant and attuned to the wilderness, he guides novice adventurers toward maintaining the delicate balance of nature across the boughs of the World Tree.
Guardian of the Glen
Positioned just outside the heart of Shadowglen, Ilthalaine is often the first face a fledgling night elf sees upon beginning their journey. He observes the woodland paths and notices the subtle shifts within the forest that go unseen by ordinary eyes. His duty is to welcome returning kin and ensure that any newly awakened defenders are grounded in the traditions of their people, ready to face the responsibilities that come with tending to Teldrassil.
The Balance of Nature
Heavy spring rains have allowed the nightsaber and thistle boar populations in Shadowglen to grow beyond what the glade can feed. Ilthalaine asks young defenders to thin their numbers so that the woodland's other creatures can flourish and nature's balance can be preserved.
A Guide to Discipline
Beyond testing an adventurer's martial prowess against local wildlife, Ilthalaine directs young elves toward their chosen callings. Entrusting each traveler with a class sigil, he points them directly to their mentors within the Aldrassil sanctuary—whether they follow the path of the warrior, druid, rogue, priest, or hunter. Through him, every novice learns where their service to the Kaldorei begins.
