Gershala Nightwhisper

Stationed peacefully within Auberdine, Gershala Nightwhisper looks beyond the immediate coastal troubles of Darkshore toward a broader, creeping danger. Watching with dismay as the remaining high elves embrace perilous arcane practices and dub themselves blood elves, Gershala seeks to understand the biological and spiritual descent that follows unchecked magic. To unlock these secrets, he directs seasoned Alliance adventurers into the submerged halls of Blackfathom Deeps to harvest corrupted brain stems from the naga and satyr who dwell within.

Gershala's grim focus on brain stems from naga and satyr stems from their shared lineage: both races were once night elves before yielding to Queen Azshara and demonic bargains. By dissecting the physical marks left upon their nervous systems by millennia of demonic and abyssal energies, he hopes to uncover warnings or safeguards that might keep other elven kin from plunging into similar monstrous deformity.
