Deputy Rainer

Westbrook Garrison serves as Elwynn Forest's westernmost bulwark, positioned just along the boundary road leading into Westfall. As political paralysis in Stormwind City keeps the bulk of the army stationed abroad or tied up in bureaucracy, border posts like Westbrook are left severely understaffed. Deputy Rainer stands outside the tower to organize what little defense the garrison can muster. With local roads constantly threatened by aggressive Riverpaw gnolls and wandering thieves, Rainer is forced to rely on passing travelers and mercenary adventurers rather than official crown regiments to keep the forest trails secure.

Beyond managing the immediate threat of the Riverpaw pack and cautioning travelers against the infamous gnoll chieftain Hogger, Rainer serves as a vital communications link to the troubled lands beyond the river. Knowing that the chaos plaguing Elwynn's borders originates in the lawless farmlands to the west, he directs capable volunteers across the threshold into Westfall, pointing them toward Gryan Stoutmantle and the struggling People's Militia.
