Sea Creature Bones

The fog-blanketed beaches of Darkshore have recently witnessed an alarming surge of massive sea creatures—including giant threshers far larger than those native to the local shallows—flinging themselves onto the shallows until they perish. The sight is viewed as an ominous portent by the night elves. Gwennyth Bly'Leggonde, an investigator dispatched by the Temple of the Moon to Auberdine, collects bone specimens from these beached leviathans to ship by hippogryph to Darnassus for close examination.

Recovering these bones is fraught with danger, as the immense carcasses inevitably attract local scavengers. The coastal Greymist murlocs frequently swarm the dead and dying leviathans, feeding on the remains and defending the feeding grounds aggressively. Although the murlocs are far too weak to hunt such colossal creatures on their own, their opportunistic presence along Mist's Edge forces investigators and adventurers to fight through the scavenging packs to secure viable bone fragments for study.
