Red Linen Bandana
A red linen bandana is the distinctive facial mask worn by members of the Defias Brotherhood across Elwynn Forest. Beyond concealing a bandit's identity, the cloth is woven from quality linen that resourceful locals often repurpose into useful garments.
Mark of the Defias
While lower-ranking initiates and common thugs in Northshire Valley make do with coarse burlap face masks, full-fledged Defias operatives throughout Elwynn Forest wear woven red linen bandanas. The bright crimson fabric serves as both a uniform and a statement of allegiance to Edwin VanCleef's rogue fraternity, disguising faces while signaling insurrection against the crown of Stormwind.
Repurposed Cloth
Despite their violent associations, the bandanas are cut from respectable yardage. Pragmatic settlers like Sara Timberlain at the Eastvale Logging Camp routinely ask travelers to collect them from outlaw encampments. With a bit of washing and needlework, the contraband cloth is transformed into sturdy clothing and bandages for the working folk of the forest.
