Honorary Picks
The Honorary Picks are a bundle of ceremonial tools crafted in Ironforge for young dwarven mining apprentices. Entrusted to travelers by way of the gryphon network, they are delivered to Brock Stoneseeker in Thelsamar to mark his students' readiness to work the rich ore veins of Loch Modan.
Tools for the Next Generation
In dwarven society, mining is far more than a trade; it is a cultural cornerstone that keeps the great forges burning and the kingdom supplied with iron and stone. The Honorary Picks represent formal recognition for novice prospectors learning under Brock Stoneseeker in Thelsamar. Sourced directly from Ironforge, these picks are presented to students who have proven their dedication and are ready to tackle the open ore deposits across Loch Modan.
Testing the Gryphon Lines
Transporting the picks serves a secondary purpose for the mountaineers and merchants of the Alliance: introducing couriers to the kingdom's gryphon network. Ferried from Ironforge's Great Forge directly to Gryth Thurden and flown across the mountains to Thorgrum Borrelson in Thelsamar, the shipment illustrates how closely tied the capital remains to its outlying outposts through swift aerial passage.
