Balnir Snapdragons

These colorful blooms still grow in the garden of the Balnir Farmstead, a homestead in eastern Tirisfal Glades left in ruin by the fall of Lordaeron and the rise of the Scourge. Lying so close to the Plaguelands to the east, the garden sits right where the Lich King's blight presses against Tirisfal, which makes its flowers a telling place to look for the spread of that corruption.

Because snapdragons are unusually sensitive to atmospheric magic, they act as living barometers for magical blights. Anastasia Hartwell and the Forsaken mages in the Undercity seek fresh specimens from the farmstead's window boxes. By turning the plants over to the Royal Apothecary Society, the Undercity hopes to analyze the flora and measure how deeply the Lich King's plague has seeped across the border into Tirisfal's soil.
