A Simple Compass

Long before Baros Alexston became a master architect directing major works in Cathedral Square, he grew up laboring on his family's farm in Westfall. The simple compass was his very first navigational instrument, likely sparking his early interest in geometry, drafting, and exploration. When the Alexston Farmstead fell victim to the Defias Brotherhood's raids and burned, the compass was left behind inside a sturdy chest amidst the ruins, preserved even as the surrounding farmland was overrun by bandits.

Baros's father managed to escape the farmstead's destruction but could not carry the family's possessions with him to safety. While the instrument possesses little practical utility to a master builder working within the stone walls of Stormwind City, its emotional significance remains immense. Returning it to Baros offers him a rare, intact link to his humble beginnings and the peaceful countryside of his childhood.
