What time does WoW Forever launch in Sydney and Melbourne?

At 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5. Blizzard's launch announcement says the game "launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST". Pacific Standard Time is UTC minus 8, and US daylight saving ended on November 1, so 3:00 p.m. PST is 15:00 plus 8 hours, or 23:00 UTC on November 4. According to The Nightly, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the ACT began daylight saving on Sunday, October 4, 2026, which puts Sydney and Melbourne on AEDT, UTC plus 11. Adding 11 hours to 23:00 gives 34:00, which is 10:00 a.m. the next day. The main launch time guide covers the US.

What time does it launch in Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin and Perth?

The Nightly says Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not observe daylight saving. With offsets from Wikipedia's page on Australian time, the sums from 23:00 UTC are:

  • Brisbane (AEST, UTC+10): 23:00 plus 10 hours is 9:00 a.m.
  • Adelaide (ACDT, UTC+10:30 in daylight saving): 23:00 plus 10.5 hours is 9:30 a.m.
  • Darwin (ACST, UTC+9:30): 23:00 plus 9.5 hours is 8:30 a.m.
  • Perth (AWST, UTC+8): 23:00 plus 8 hours is 7:00 a.m.

All four land on Thursday, November 5.

What time does it launch in New Zealand?

At noon on Thursday, November 5. Wikipedia says New Zealand's daylight time began on September 27, 2026, putting Auckland on NZDT, UTC plus 13. Adding 13 hours to 23:00 gives 36:00, which is 12:00 noon on November 5. TimeSaver's table lists the same noon start.

Why do some pages say 11 p.m. on November 4?

Because 11 p.m. is the launch time in the United Kingdom. A PlayNews headline reads "launch time: 11 p.m. on 4 November"; I could not load the page, and the headline names no time zone. Blizzard's UK page gives 23:00 GMT, so the headline is likely UK time (my inference), not Australian time. Warcraft Wiki's WoW Forever page lists the launch at 0:00 UTC, which does not match Blizzard's 23:00 UTC; TimeSaver says the official Forever page's countdown is set to 23:00 UTC.

What is not confirmed yet

  • The Blizzard pages I opened give the launch in PST, GMT and CET. Its Australian English page did not load for me, so the Australian times are conversions, not Blizzard figures.
  • Kami-labs reported on October 22 that Blizzard's English article said PDT in one place. The Blizzard pages I opened on October 29 say PST. If PDT were correct, every time above would be an hour earlier.
  • No source I opened says whether queues or server access begin exactly on the hour. See the launch week checklist.
