Best Class for PvP in WoW Forever: What Guides Say
For PvP in World of Warcraft: Forever (WoW Forever), RankedBoost and Gamer Guides both rate Rogue and Discipline Priest S tier, and NoobToBoss names Rogue, Mage, Warlock and Priest as the strongest PvP kits. Every ranking was made on a beta capped at level 30, and NoobToBoss says battlegrounds could not yet be tested.
Quick answer: Rogue and Discipline Priest are the two names that RankedBoost and Gamer Guides both put in S tier for PvP. Paladin, Druid and Warrior are where sources split. WoW Forever launches November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST (Blizzard), so rankings may shift.

A banner on the road to a battleground draws an argument before it draws a blade. Every camp wants to know who to bring, and the guides do not all give the same names. Here is what each one says, and where they part ways.
Key facts
- RankedBoost PvP list: S tier is Feral Combat Druid, Arcane Mage, all three Rogue specs and Discipline Priest (updated October 17)
- Gamer Guides PvP list: S tier is Affliction Warlock, Subtlety and Assassination Rogue, Discipline Priest (updated October 18)
- NoobToBoss: Rogue, Mage, Warlock and Priest have the strongest PvP kits at level 30 (October 19)
- Progression: Honor and Rank Points, ranks up to High Warlord or Grand Marshal, weekly rank cap (Blizzard)
Which class do the guides rank highest for PvP in WoW Forever?
RankedBoost's PvP list weighs control and burst first, then survival, mobility and utility, and puts six specs in S tier: Feral Combat Druid, Arcane Mage, Subtlety, Combat and Assassination Rogue, and Discipline Priest. Gamer Guides puts Affliction Warlock, Subtlety and Assassination Rogue, and Discipline Priest in S tier.
NoobToBoss publishes no separate PvP list. It says its view comes from class kits and level 30 duels, because battlegrounds could not yet be tested. MeinMMO's Rogue page agrees on the class: it says that with Vanish, Escape and Blind ready, Rogues can defeat anyone in a duel.
Where do the PvP sources disagree?
Paladin is the sharpest split. Kami Labs, in an opinion piece from October 21, calls the Paladin "the big winner of WoW Forever", yet Gamer Guides puts Holy and Protection Paladin in B tier, and RankedBoost grades Protection B and Retribution and Holy A.
Mage splits too: RankedBoost puts Arcane in S, Gamer Guides gives Arcane and Frost an A, and Kami Labs calls the Mage more fragile than usual. On Warrior, Kami Labs calls Arms the PvP spec par excellence, but RankedBoost grades Arms B and Fury A. RankedBoost drops Holy Priest to D.
How does PvP work at launch, and does it change your pick?
Blizzard says PvP is optional on the Normal ruleset, that the PvP ruleset limits you to one faction, and that battlegrounds can include players from other rulesets except Hardcore. Method adds that on Normal you type /pvp to opt in and the flag lapses after five minutes without player combat. See our guides to world PvP and honor, battlegrounds and rulesets.
Warcraft Tavern's report on the September 17 developer Q&A says there are "no current plans for rated PvP". Blizzard's October 7 PvP post describes Honor, Rank Points and seasons instead.
What is not confirmed yet
- Every ranking was made on a level 30 beta. Levels 31 to 60 could not be tested, NoobToBoss calls PvP tiers "the least reliable part of the beta", and Gamer Guides says Blizzard is still tuning classes.
- Gamer Guides predicts a nerf to the Gnome racial Eureka, but does not say one has happened.
- No source I opened has played Forever battlegrounds at level 60.
How can the Lore Forever add-on and Willo help with this?
The road to a battleground runs through the leveling zones. The free Lore Forever add-on gives you the story and recorded narration of the zone you stand in, a Lore button on quests, and a Journey page of every quest you have finished. Willo, a Windows companion app, lets you ask out loud and hear the answer, talk to the characters you target, and keep a notebook of to-dos for each character. She is free to start with 50 answers a day, works without the add-on, and can be wrong, so check her against the guides above.
