Ruins of Isildien
The Ruins of Isildien are the sprawling remains of an ancient night elven city in southwestern Feralas, destroyed ten millennia ago during the Great Sundering. Today, the overgrown stonework and cracked temple courtyards are occupied by brutish Gordunni ogres.
A Fallen City of the Kaldorei
Ten thousand years ago, before the world shattered, Isildien was a grand night elven settlement nestled in the primordial forests of ancient Kalimdor. Its graceful marble arches and grand terraces stood as monuments to kaldorei civilization and devotion. When the Well of Eternity imploded and tore the continents apart, Isildien fell into ruined desolation, smothered under millennia of untamed jungle growth. Dominating the upper terrace is a colossal domed structure remarkably reminiscent of Darnassus's Temple of the Moon, suggesting the city was once a significant sanctuary dedicated to Elune.
The Gordunni Stronghold
In the modern era, the elegant stonework of Isildien serves a far cruder purpose. The Gordunni ogres of Feralas have claimed the sprawling terraces and outcroppings as one of their primary settlements. The ogres have fortified the crumbling walkways, desecrating ancient plazas with crude bonfires, primitive barricades, and war banners, fiercely defending their stolen home against any outsiders who venture too close to the southern hills.
