Red Rocks

Red Rocks is a towering sandstone bluff in northeastern Mulgore that serves as a sacred ancestral burial ground for the tauren. Here, fallen champions are commended to the Earth Mother through cleansing flame, and young braves travel to its quiet heights to seek the wisdom of their forebears.

Rising high above the plains of northeastern Mulgore, the crimson formations of Red Rocks mark a sacred threshold between the living world and the next. Tauren tradition reserves this solemn ground for their most valiant heroes—chieftains, defenders, and champions who gave their lives founding and protecting Thunder Bluff. Their remains are surrendered to the sky and soil through ceremonial pyres, returning their spirits to the Earth Mother and Sky Father. It is equally a place of spiritual beginning, where young tauren complete their rites of passage by honoring the ancestral graves and communing with the wind.
