Plaguemist Ravine
Plaguemist Ravine is a narrow mountain passage connecting the verdant wilderness of the Hinterlands to the haunted shores of Darrowmere Lake in the Western Plaguelands. Named for the sickly fog that rolls down from the north, it provides a quiet and desolate route across the mountain range.
A Blighted Threshold
Tucked away in the mountains northwest of Quel'Danil Lodge, Plaguemist Ravine acts as a geographic threshold between two radically different realms. To the south lies the lush, untamed highland forest of the Hinterlands, while to the north the pass opens directly upon Caer Darrow and the blighted expanse of the Western Plaguelands. The ravine earned its name from the foul, unnatural vapors that creep southward out of the Plaguelands, creating a jarring contrast with the crisp mountain air of the neighboring wilderness.
A Quiet Passage
Despite cutting directly into the edge of Scourge-ravaged territory, the ravine itself remains remarkably deserted. Travelers find neither wild beasts nor wandering undead lingering within the gorge itself. Because of this eerie stillness, the winding path serves as a convenient, albeit ominous, back road for daring couriers and adventurers wishing to bypass the heavily fortified highways and border checkpoints leading into Lordaeron.
