Mystral Lake

Mystral Lake is the largest body of water in Ashenvale, resting in the south-central forest just below Silverwind Refuge. Once a tranquil sanctuary guarded by water elementals loyal to the night elves, its waters have become fraught with danger due to corruption of the local elementals.

Spanning a vast expanse south of Silverwind Refuge and east of Talondeep Vale, Mystral Lake was long cherished by the kaldorei for its pure waters and peaceful guardian elementals. However, dark interference has broken that ancient peace. The rogue mage Sarilus Foulborne turned his arts upon the lake's water spirits, corrupting them into hostile, violent entities. Today, travelers from both the Horde and Alliance frequently find their journeys pulling them to these troubled shores, contending with the wrath of spirits that once sheltered the woods.
