Misty Reed Strand
The Misty Reed Strand is the fog-shrouded, desolate eastern coastline of the Swamp of Sorrows. Lined with jagged rocks, washed-up wreckage, and creeping swamp mist, it is home to aggressive crabs, crocolisks, and coastal murloc tribes. Travelers venturing down to the surf often find themselves contending with the local wildlife for whatever resources wash ashore.
A Foggy Shoreline
Stretching along the entire eastern border of the Swamp of Sorrows, the Misty Reed Strand forms a damp barrier between the deep mire and the Great Sea. Heavy mists constantly roll in off the water, obscuring vision and muffling the cries of native wildlife. The beaches are littered with sea debris, driftwood, and decaying vegetation washed out from the bog inland. Because of its remote position and harsh climate, no formal permanent settlements hold the shoreline, leaving the sands to aggressive crustaceans, stalking crocolisks, and territorial murlocs who violently defend their foraging grounds.
Contested Waters
Both Alliance and Horde scouts periodically direct adventurers out to the strands, though neither faction claims the beach as sovereign territory. The Alliance often gathers driftwood and beach salvage here while attempting to thin the skittering crab population. Meanwhile, Horde outposts further inland keep a wary eye on the coastline's murloc encampments, sending seasoned fighters to cull their numbers before the amphibious raiders can push deeper toward Stonard or threaten marsh travel.
