Piercing the Veil

Piercing the Veil is an introductory warlock trial given by Venya Marthand in Deathknell. It tests a freshly risen warlock's resolve by directing them to collect skulls from nearby mindless skeletons. Completing the task earns the novice the knowledge required to summon and bind an imp minion.

Greetings, child. I can see that you are still young in the ways of the warlock, power still eluding your grasp. I can sense your eagerness to learn.

And you will learn.

There is no strength in ignorance. Knowledge is our greatest power. Through its application, we can control the chaotic magics and beings of the void, bending them to our will.

I will show you how to bind a servant to your will, but first you must bring me three skulls of the Rattlecage Skeletons near the abandoned smithy.

Though you are still untested and young in your learning, you have proven that you possess sufficient ability to master the summoning and binding of an imp. Do not be deceived by an imp's size. Though it lacks physical strength, it possesses powers and a cleverness that will serve you well.
