Gilshalan Windwalker
Gilshalan Windwalker is a night elf researcher resting at the base of the great tree Aldrassil in Shadowglen. Concerned by the sudden corruption taking root within Teldrassil, he studies the local wildlife to understand the unnatural aggression plaguing the boughs. His investigations into the Webwood spiders provide early clues about the rot afflicting the World Tree.
A Scholar at the Roots
Sitting calmly on the stone steps leading into Aldrassil, Gilshalan Windwalker watches over the tranquil canopy of Shadowglen with growing unease. Teldrassil was planted to restore the night elves' lost sanctuary and harmony with nature, but signs of deep spiritual malaise have emerged almost immediately. Gilshalan dedicates himself to examining how this corruption manifests in the local beasts, beginning with the venomous arachnids that weave their webs nearby.
The Webwood Menace
Gilshalan's primary focus centers on the Webwood spiders lurking in the Shadowthread Cave to the north. These creatures, once a balanced part of the forest ecosystem, have grown unnaturally hostile and tainted. By sending young novices to gather venom sacs and intact spider eggs, Gilshalan works to analyze the venom's altered potency and discern whether the corruption is passed down through generations or spread externally through the soil of Teldrassil.
