Zhevra Hooves
Zhevra Hooves are sturdy animal parts collected from the wild equines roaming the arid plains of the Barrens. They serve as hunting trophies brought to the Crossroads to prove a traveler's prowess against beasts far stronger than initial appearances suggest.
Trophies of the Hunt
Zhevras may appear to be simple striped grazers, but their compact, muscular legs carry considerable lethality. Sergra Darkthorn, the orc shaman in charge of the Crossroads, tests aspiring Horde scouts by sending them to harvest hooves from zhevra runners. The exercise is designed to hone a fledgling hunter's instincts and resilience, as a solid kick from a panicked runner is known to knock even a sturdy tauren flat on their haunches. Presenting intact hooves confirms that a hunter can handle swift, kicking quarry before moving on to Kalimdor's deadliest predators.
