Yowler's Paw

The Redridge gnolls have long terrorized the heights surrounding Lake Everstill, their bloodcurdling howls echoing down into the settlement of Lakeshire. Among them, none is more feared than Yowler, the ruthless alpha driving their expansion. Because gnoll ears and paws are customary proof of bounties across the human territories, Verner Osgood asks brave adventurers to bring back Yowler's paw. Severing it marks not just the demise of an unusually cunning predator, but a deliberate move to shatter the chain of command among his disorganized followers.

Bringing back Yowler's paw underscores the dire situation in Lakeshire. The Stormwind Army is completely consumed by the Blackrock orc threat entrenched around Stonewatch Keep, leaving civil authorities and townspeople to hire passing mercenaries for defense. In the absence of regular royal garrisons, securing proof like Yowler's paw is the only way settlers like Verner Osgood can ensure the local roads remain even marginally safe for trade and travel.
